Angelite Meaning and Properties

A relatively recent discovery, angelite was discovered in Peru in 1987. The name Ahnydrite comes from the Greek anhydras meaning "without water" a reference to angelite being a gypsum that has completely lost all hydration, becoming a stone that is "without water."

Angelite is a lovely blue stone with a peaceful energy that is calming and soothing. It has a vibration that is very helpful to aid contact with beings in the higher realms and in particular with members of the angelic kingdom. Many people choose to use it is because it both aids you to connect with angels, and is also helpful to assist you to make contact with spirit guides. In many people it may also stimulate the birth of psychic gifts, and aid channeling and mediumship. It is a strong communication stone, and an extremely helpful healing crystal, that will benefit you in a number of ways.

Caring for Angelite

Anhydrite, including Angelite, is an inherently unstable stone, able to absorb moisture with incredible ease. It can also be easily marred, so protect it from scratches, sharp blows or large temperature changes that will fracture, shatter or chip it. When anhydrite is exposed or immersed into water, it transforms into gypsum. Therefore, do not wear angelite while perspiring, bathing or swimming. It is best cleaned with a soft, dry cloth.

Wrist Size

Your bracelet will be made to order. This means you can select the size you'd like it to be. Don't know the size of your wrist? That's ok, you can use a tape measure, measuring at the point where you'd like the bracelet to sit. This is normally between the hand and the wrist bone. Use a tape measure and measure your wrist in the same way you would measure your waist. If, for example, your measurement was 16.5cm (6.5"), I would make the bracelet with an inside line measurement to match. This will ensure your bracelet fits well to your wrist. A stretch bead bracelet should fit so that all of the beads are touching your wrist. You don't really want any slackness there.
